AN INTRODUCTION TO NON-IONISING RADIATION (NIR) SAFETY MANAGEMENT

This webinar, presented by Angela Yeadon (Aurora HP), is for those who require an overview of managing NIR (artificial optical radiation and electromagnetic fields) safety in the workplace. NIR safety management can present a number of challenges. This webinar will address some of those challenges and discuss some of the actions organisations should be taking in order to ensure they are compliant with the relevant legislation, in particular the Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010 and the Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016.

The webinar is free to members and non-member - please book onto the webinar in order to receive the joining instructions.

Angela Yeadon (Aurora HP) is a highly experienced radiation protection specialist, and has worked in this field for 14 years. She is a certificated Laser Protection Adviser and Non-ionising Radiation (NIR) Safety Specialist, and provides advice and training across many sectors on laser, broadband optical and electromagnetic field safety. This includes carrying out safety assessments of electromagnetic fields and optical radiation using specialist measurement equipment.

Before joining Aurora in 2015, Angela worked for Public Health England, where she was part of the team that wrote the ‘Non-binding guide to good practice for implementing Directive 2013/35/EU Electromagnetic Fields’.
